Description:
White cotton and muslin christining gown; round collar trimmed with floral eyelet lace; long sleeves with fitted cuffs decorated with a band of whitework and trimmed on each side with eyelet lace; triangular yolk dropped into a false apron decorated with alternating V-shaped bands of floral whitework embroidery, horizontal bands of nine tucks and vertical shirred muslin; sides of apron and yolk trimmed with eyelet lace; two wide muslin ties attach at the front of the high waistline beneath the yolk and are decorated with the whitework, tucks, muslin shirring and eyelet lace; base of dress has bands of shirring tucks and whitework above the hem; hem timmed with box-pleated whitework with a scalloped edge; one mother-of-pearl button at the back of the neck.
