Description:
Mahogany Empire center table with circular plaster top with painted depiction of a rural landscape within border of primrose sprays; tripod pedestal base consisting of carved vase-shaped column on cylindrical base supported by lion legs with scrolling acanthus leaves carved on knees and paw feet on casters.

According to the accession records, this table was purchased from the Charles G. Thompson Estate and was initially installed, following its acquisition by the N-YHS, in the Thompson Homestead Memorial, East Hampton, Long Island.
