Aluminum struck medal with obverse showing Sub-Treasury building with Washington statue in front and dates below: "1789 - 1889"; legend around border: "THE CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION OF WASHINGTON'S INAUGURATION." Reverse shows two American flags with standards at center surrounded by open laurel and oak wreath; legend: "COMPLIMENTS/NEW YORK"; inscription: "BLACK, STARR & FROST." Ring attached at center top. Top, bottom, and three sides of blue sqaure cardboard box.
