Description:
Wrought silver caster; baluster-shaped body, with an inverted-pear shaped lower body; seated on an applied, stepped splayed foot with a stamped bell flower footring; scroll and shell design chased below the contraflexure; chased cartouche in the center of the upper body with a chased band of flowers around the sides; cartouche engraved, "Sophie/ to her/ Mother" in script; applied, stepped band around the rim; high, domed cover with circular pierce-work all over; plain, applied, molded flange around the bottom; cast knob finial applied to the top; maker's marks stamped on the base.
