Leather, tin, and iron cartridge box; rectangular black leather box has shoulder strap that runs through two two horizontal loops on back, with back ends fastened to iron buckles at bottom of box, two vertical loops also sewn to back, implement pocket on front, and flap with strap that fastens to stud at bottom of box; box contains four compartment tin insert.
This cartridge box was used during the Civil War by John Park Haynes of the 51st Massachusetts Regiment.
