Dark brown leather card case with a flap across the top without a closing device, the inside is lined with red leather; when opened, the top half has an envelope pocket for cards, with a piece of leather applied to the front divided in half by stitching in the middle forming two smaller pockets, the bottom has four compartments with accordioned sides, on the front of which is an envelope pocket with a flap over the top.
Gallery Label: 
This card case belonged to William Post (1816-1867) of New York City. He was the grandfather of the donor's husband, Gerardus Post Herrick (1873-1955).
