Struck silvered copper medal with obverse showing Captain Isaac Hull's uniformed bust facing left with legend: "PERITOS ARTE SUPERAT JUL. MDCCXII CERTAMINE FORTES/ISAAC HULL." Reverse shows a naval battle with legend: "HORAE MOMENTO VICTORIA" and exergual inscription: "INTER CONST. NAV. AMER./ET GUER. ANGL." Square dark-brown fitted shagreen case with cream silk satin and beige silk velvet lining.
Captain Isaac Hull was awarded this medal by Congress for his naval actions in the War of 1812 with Great Britain.
