Description:
Black velvet cape lined with quilted black silk; the back is rounded, with wide lapets at the front, outer edge is embroidered with black silk floss and glass beads in a floral and scroll design, bordered by zig-zag pattern.

This cape belonged to Mrs. Howell Cobb, who was the mother of Mary Horn Lamar Cobb Erwin, the founder of the Southern Cross of Honor.
