Stamped "2" on handle. Three rows of "III" pattern encircle base of ferrule.
Chestnut-brown, lacquered, wood handle, tapers to end. Cylindrical, seamed, metal ferrule. White bristles, stained with pigment.
According to the accession records, this tabouret was used by Asher B. Durand, an artist and engraver best known for his Hudson River school paintings.
