Marks:
Stamped "III" pattern around base of ferrule, two rows. Stamped "FW DEVOE & CO" and "7" on handle.
Description:
Black lacquered wood handle, broken, but bulges and tapers in toward ferrule. Seamless, conical, yellow metal ferrule. Sable(?) bristles.
Gallery Label:
Devoe did not begin making brushes until the late 1870s. The company became F.W. Devoe & C.T. Raynolds in 1890.
