Black lacquered wood handle, lacquer rubbing off at top of handle, tapers to end, curves in at ferrule. Conical, seamed, metal ferrule. White bristles.
According to the accession records, this tabouret was used by Asher B. Durand, an artist and engraver best known for his Hudson River school paintings.
