Single row of "III" pattern around base of ferrule. Marked "F.W. DEVOE & CO.N.Y." and "8" on handle.
Description:
Orange-ish-brown, lacquered wood handle, tapers to end, curves in toward ferrule. Conical, seamed, metal ferrule. Sable(?) bristles.
Gallery Label:
Devoe did not begin making brushes until the late 1870s. The company became F.W. Devoe & C.T. Raynolds in 1890.
