Stamped with number on handle.
Light stained wood handle, with areas of black throughout. Tapers gradually to point and curves in toward ferrule. Conical, seamed metal ferrule. White and black (badger hair? Squirrel?) bristles.
According to the accession records, this tabouret was used by Asher B. Durand, an artist and engraver best known for his Hudson River school paintings.
