Dark brown wood handle, tapers to end, curves in toward ferrule. Cylindrical, seamed, metal ferrule. White bristles, stained with pigment, and damaged.
According to the accession records, this tabouret was used by Asher B. Durand, an artist and engraver best known for his Hudson River school paintings.
