Reddish-brown, lacquered wood handle, tapers to point, curves in toward ferrule. Cylindrical, seamed, metal ferrule. White bristles, heavily damaged.
According to the accession records, this tabouret was used by Asher B. Durand, an artist and engraver best known for his Hudson River school paintings.
