Brown stained wood handle, stained darker in places throughout, tapers to end, curves in slightly toward ferrule. Conical, seamed, metal ferrule. Chestnut colored bristles, damaged.
According to the accession records, this tabouret was used by Asher B. Durand, an artist and engraver best known for his Hudson River school paintings.
