Black lacquered wood handle, lacquer largely rubbed off lower end of handle, tapers to end, curves in slightly at ferrule. Comical, copper, seamless ferrule. Chestnut-colored bristles.
According to the accession records, this tabouret was used by Asher B. Durand, an artist and engraver best known for his Hudson River school paintings.
