Reddish-brown lacquered, straight wood handle, curves in slightly at ferrule. Conical, seamed, copper ferrule. Sable(?) bristles, broken off at ends.
According to the accession records, this tabouret was used by Asher B. Durand, an artist and engraver best known for his Hudson River school paintings.
