Description: 
a woman and 3 baby carriages are surrounded by a rough-hewn landscape set against a background of low-rise buildings, apparently apartment buildings, a few having business on the ground floor. The scene is executed in a combination of grey tones and warm orange-reds with some bits of white in the woman's blouse, the building windows and the sky.
Gallery Label: 
"The Bronx" depicts a borough vastly under-represented in the Society's collections, where much of the City's .20th-century social history has been played out. It also serves to document the continuuing stream of foreign artists arriving in this country, bringing with them new styles and fresh ideas.
