Cast iron mechanical bank in form of boy straddling horizontal pole between two posts mounted on base, with one foot balanced on spherical weight and one arm raised; base curves out to bottom, with pierced decoration and additional cast decoration in the form of architectural elements of faces on each side; coin placed on head causes boy to swing downwards and deposit coin in base.
Gallery Label: 
This object was once part of the folk art collection of Elie Nadelman (1882-1946), the avant-garde sculptor. From 1924 to 1934, Nadelman's collection was displayed in his Museum of Folk Arts, located in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. The Historical Society purchased Nadelman's entire collection in 1937.
