White clay bodied bowl with circular foot, hand-painted interior with sailing ship flying British naval flags in brown, black, grey, and red on green sea with inscription and stylized border under rim, painted red; bowl's exterior printed in red with four scenes illustrating the birth of Venus, Neptune on his chariot emerging from the sea, and two pastoral vignettes with figures in eighteenth century dress.
