Description:
Molded yellowware flask in shape of a book with five horizontal bands on spine and circular opening on top; brown mottled glaze (Rockingham) with green flecks.
Gallery Label:
Lajos Kossuth, a Hungarian revolutionary leader, toured the United States in 1851 at the invitation of the U.S. government. A popular hero, not unlike Lafayette, Kossuth inspired the production of commemorative objects such as this flask.
