Billfold: genre scenes on interior lining

Rectangular red leather purse (pocketbook) with a strap that goes around both sides and slides into a securing loop, the inside has two compartments with accordioned sides, with paper genre scene engravings applied on the outer surface of each, the top scene depicts a woman in a fichu and dormeuse standing at a Dutch door looking at an embracing couple, the lower scene depicts cobbler at work outside and a woman with a water pitcher, both scenes are surrounded with rinceau design and a birds at the bottom corners.
This pocketbook belonged to General Peter Ganesvoort, Jr. (d. 1812), of Albany, New York.
