"Ben Hur or the Chariot Race" board game with four lead chariot drivers and a pair of wooden dice in a paper covered cardboard box; game board applied across the bottom half of the box with a flap across one side to store the playing implements below; board chromolithographed with an oval race track with four lanes that represents the interior of a Roman arena with chariot drivers around the track and spectators in the stands; box cover chromolithographed with an image of a chariot driver with a winged helmet driving four black horses with another driver and spectators in arena stands in the background; box lithographed with the inscription, "BEN HUR/ OR THE CHARIOT RACE/ COPYRIGHT 1899, BY CHAFFEE & SELCHOW, NEW YORK".
