Description:
Two-piece buckle with rectangular slot for belt at both ends; circular frontpiece with eagle perched above anchor, encircled by stars and roped border; slides through slot in center of other circular piece with wreather border.

This buckle was part of a waistbelt worn by U.S. Navy Commodore John Stark Lovell during the Civil War.
