Description:
Bronze struck medal with obverse depicting approaching modern locomotive with allegorical nude male figure flying above; surrounding legend: "ONE HUNDRED YEARS/SAFETY STRENGTH SPEED." Reverse shows old style locomotive with human figure; inscription in exergue: "PETER COOPER'S/'TOM THUMB' "; legend within line border: "THE.BALTIMORE.AND.OHIO.RAILROAD.COMPANY./1827.1927." Medal set into square dark blue cardboard fitted case with dark blue velvet interior.
