Metal badge suspended from bar with pin-back; upper bar in the shape of an eagle holding two crossed cannons and cannon balls; 5 point star depicts image of a woman, soldier, children and two American flags; inscribed "GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC/1861 VETERAN 1866"; reverse depicts various symbols and an American shield at center; bar and medal connected by a red, white and blue silk ribbon; inscribed "AMERICA FOR/ALBANY/NY"
