Description:
Molded ashtray shaped like an artist's palette with black transfer printed view of two steam engines and train cars on suspended tracks travelling across a landscape; the transfer print is filled in with hand painted overglaze in brown, blue-green, yellow, and other colors; there are traces of gold luster around part of the rim.

This dish is part of the Hotel Dauphin Collection of railroad china and dining car plates; this is possibly a souvenir ashtray.
