Brass struck medal with obverse showing full-length figure of Vernon facing right with sword in his right hand and baton in left; cannon at right, ship at left; below is ornament consisting of shell with leaves; surrounding legend within line border: "THE BRITISH GLORY REVIV . D . BY . ADMIRAL . VERNON." Reverse depicts sailing ships with tower on either side; date in exergue: "NOV. 22 . 1739" with ornament below; legend within line border; "WHO . TOOK . PORTO /.BELLO . WITH . SIX . SHIPS . ONLY."
