Using his earlier bust-length portrait as the model for the head, Marshall created this three-quarter-length portrait showing Lincoln standing with a scroll in his left hand as if about to deliver a speech. The portrait was inherited by Oscar Marshall upon the death of his brother, the artist, and donated to the Society by the artist's sister-in-law.
