Cream colored, machine-made, wove, mid-weight paper. Spots of acid staining on one side, folded in half and discolored entirely on one half of one side. Sides cut straight.
According to the accession records, this tabouret was used by Asher B. Durand, an artist and engraver best known for his Hudson River school paintings.
