Join us via Zoom every Tuesday for story time and crafts! Each class includes a special Little New-Yorkers hello song, silly dances and games, a story book reading, and a craft to do at home. Welcome to Black History Month, Little New-Yorkers! All month long we will be learning about and celebrating the accomplishments of Black people throughout history!
“Always remember, that just because someone says “you can’t,” that doesn’t have to stop you.” These are the words of real life submarine engineer Raye Montague. In Julia Finley Mosca’s The Girl with a Mind for Math, with illustrations by Daniel Rieley, we will hear Raye’s story. As a black woman, Raye faced down racism and sexism at every step on her journey to becoming a pioneer of ship building. Become an engineer yourself by building your own submarine after the story!
