Join us for our fourteenth annual gala concert, Making History with American Music, featuring Broadway entertainment and an elegant dinner by Stephen Starr Events—all in support of the American Musicals Project (AMP). An innovative education program, AMP utilizes video clips from American musical theater and primary source materials from the New-York Historical Society’s renowned collection to engage young learners in the study of history. Your support will help bring history to life through exciting hands-on workshops for students and teachers and will enable the continued development of this unique approach to teaching our future citizens the lessons of our past.

Gary John La Rosa has directed well over 200 productions nationally, including the World Premiere of Ching’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, (Opera Memphis); the Tenth Anniversary Tour of Footloose; The Sound of Music (w/ Rex Smith); and Always…Patsy Cline (w/ Sally Struthers). He has directed repeatedly at: the St. Louis MUNY, KC Starlight, Phoenix Theatre, Sacramento Music Circus, Fulton Opera House, Lyric Theatre of OK, Downtown Cabaret, Playhouse on the Square, Theatre-by-the-Sea, Westchester Broadway Theatre, Albuquerque CLO, and as a guest director at many universities. A UCLA graduate, Mr. La Rosa was formerly an actor, including Broadway and national/international tour credits.
