Description:
Gray cotton canvas Naval officer's single-breasted work coat; double collar and short lapels, shoulder boards with Lieutenant's double stripe lacing and a single 5-pointed star on each side, 3 buttons down the front, closed sleeves (no cuffs), a pocket at each breast and each hip, pockets have flaps which button closed, false waistband around the stomach; all buttons cast with an eagle perched on an anchor above 3 cannon balls and surrounded by starts; 2 panels at the back, skirt split below false waistband; inside unlined, horizontal slit pocket at each breast, pockets lined with gray cotton.
