Cream silk wedding dress; corset style fitted bodice with deep pointed V-waistline; square neckline trimmed with cream silk cord and hand made bobbin lace in a floral and leaf pattern; back cut in a V-shape; puffed cap sleeves trimmed with the same lace; waistline trimmed with the cream cord; cream silk ribbon ties for the corset back; two metallic embroidered paraments with pearl and cloth covered beads appliquéd over the breast; unlined and boned interior; pleated and slightly bustled skirt with a long padded train; pleated and draped in the front producing an apron-like effect with a pleated ruffle around the bottom; interior pleated ruffle with machine-made bobbin lace under the outer ruffle and along the edges of the train; ten of the paraments also worn at the breast decorate the outer edges of the draped front; lined with a stiff cotton net; closed with metal hooks and eyes at the back.
This wedding dress was worn on February 14, 1889 by the donor's mother, Mrs. E. Hayward Ferry.
