Description: 
Wooden cane with straight, tapered shaft; gilded knob handle with inscriptions and engraved gothic decoration; top of handle engraved with ship, laurel wreath, eagle, shield, and flags; brass ferrule.
Gallery Label: 
According to the inscription on the handle, this cane was made from the ward room table of the flagship Lawrence, which was commanded by Oliver Hazard Perry during the War of 1812.
