Description:
Waistcoat with silk front panels with heavily embroidered white-work floral designs on the lapels, along the garment opening and along the base; small rolled collar into dropped lapels over five embroidered buttons with a flower design; natural linen lining trimmed with white leather at base of lining; white chintz back panel with white chintz belt and two pronged metal buckle at lower back to cinch garment.

This waistcoat was worn by Fredrick V. Rushton, the father of the donor, in 1857.
