Description: 
Leather and brass waist belt; stitched black leather with loop sewn on left side of belt, fragment of sling suspended from sliding brass clip near center, and rectangular brass plate with beaded border at right end that fastens to clip on left; stamped letter on back of plate.

According to accession records, this waist belt was part of a uniform worn by the donor's father, Emilio Buch, while serving in the 2nd Battalion, Cazadores Voluntarios de Matanzas, as part of Spanish forces during the Cuban insurrection of 1867.
