This truck door and other parts of the Rescue Company 2 " rig" were salvaged at the Fresh Kills Landfill, in consultation with the Fire Department of New York and the men of Rescue 2. Located since 1985 at 1472 Bergen St. in Beford Stuyvesant, this elite company arrived at the unfolding World Trade center tragedy on the morning of Spetember 11, 2001, little more than fifteen minutes after hearing the alarm. All seven firefighters aboard the rig that day died.
