Dark blue wool trousers with 1 3/4" gilt stripe along the side of each leg; 6 button fly, top 2 buttons fasten on the inside; 6 buttons around with waistband, a horizontal pocket at the front of each hip; 2 straps at the back which fasten at the center with rectangular metal buckle with double-tongued chape; waist and pockets lined with cotton.

These trousers are part of a uniform worn by George Elmore Ide, who served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1861-1881.
