Description: 
Camel-coloered wool trousers with vertical fly covered with horizonally oriented flap, one pocket at the front at each side of the hip, pockets button closed; 2 straps at the back which buckle at the center beneath the waistband; buckled stirrups at the ankles; waistband lined with white satin and dark brown linen, pockets lined with white linen.
Gallery Label: 
These trousers are a reproduction of those worn by Albert Gallatin (1761-1849), stateman and once acting president of the New-York Historical Society. It was worn by his descendent, Albert E. Gallatin in the re-enactment of the signing of the Treaty of Ghent, in which the elder Gallatin particpated.
