Description:
Wrought silver plate tray; flat, oval base with concave sides and a wide flat rim that comes to points at each end; cast, reed band applied around the rim; engraved, "C L B" in script on the rim; maker's marks stamped on the base.
Gallery Label:
The initials on the tray probably refer to Caroline Lawrence Bogert (1880-1942), who married Townsend Lawrence (1870-1951) in 1915.
