Inside section of a leather traveling bag; brocaded silk with blue striping sewn around rectangular section of cardboard; printed paper label of Richard Harrison, saddler, harness and trunk maker, glued to surface.
Gallery Label:
The leather bag which this fragment came from was owned by William Gardiner Jones, the great-grandfather of the donor. The maker of the leather bag, saddler Richard Harrison, is listed in the New York City directories between 1830 and 1835.
