Description:
A clear plastic pedestal that once displayed a model airplane. Embossed on the base "Chicago-Hawk- 18 . Ill./ Convair". Convair has been a military airplane manufacturing division of the General Dynamics Company since the 1940's, which went into a commercial airline venture at the urging of financier and pilot Howard Hughes in the 1950's, but failed to create a significantly faster commercial plane than Boeing. It presently remains solely a military jet manufacturer.
