Black silk top hat with black grosgrain ribbon band and small circular vent in top of crown; in oval cardboard box covered in gray paper, with white cotton ribbon ties.
John Ward Dunsmore (1856-1945) was one of America's leading painters of murals and historical subjects in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The N-YHS owns over fifty of his works.
