This scallop shell embossed metal serving tool is made of thinly silver plated base metal and was meant to be folded into tongs. It is engraved in the center "Huyler's", the New York cocoa and candy maker, and probably was used to serve sugar cubes or bon-bons. See also 2002.1.1519 for a folded pair.
