Steel spectacles with oval lenses and "C" shaped bridge; double-hinged (Ayscough type) temples with circular loops at ends.
Gallery Label:
Major-General Israel Putnam, who played a controversial part in the battle of Long Island, is said to have worn these spectacles during the Revolutionary War.
