Description: 
Mahogany, Grecian-style Federal side chair with lyre back; incurving top rail with veneered panel in between reeded stiles that continue to the front seat rail; slip seat with brackets (later additions) and a reeded seat rail; incurving legs; hairy-paw feet in front. Modern horsehair upholstery.
Gallery Label: 
This chair and its mate were originally ordered by the Griswold Family of Albany, New York. They descended by marriage to the Burden Family, whose descendants used them until the date of donation.
