Description: 
White silk shirtwaist covered in panels of needlepoint and mechlin lace; high band collar of needlepoint lace with applied white silk ribbon in a greek-key pattern; long "leg-of-mutton" sleeves, sleeve with a large puff at the shoulder narrowing and fitted below the elbow, with handmade needlepoint ruffles at the shoulder and elbow, band of needlepoint lace in a floral pattern on machine-made tulle below the shoulder and a band of handmade tulle with silk ribbon appliqes in a greek-key pattern around the elbow; below the elbow mechlin lace with silk foliate appliques; needlepoint cuffs with silk appliques in a greek-key pattern and a ruffled needlepoint interior cuff; bodice and back made of three bands of lace at a v-angle, needlepoint lace with silk greek-key appliques at the shoulders, mechlin lace with silk foliate aplliques over the breast and needlepoint lace in a foliate design on machine-made tulle over the ribs; ruffle of needlepoint lace with greek-key silk ribbon apliques between the to lower bands of lace; white silk pleated band around the bottom of the shirt, coming to a point in the front; bone stays around the bottom of the shirt; metal hook and eye closes up the front of the shirt.
