This round wood cansiter is a thread holder and dispenser with 6 prongs for holding spools. The lid has a print of the ruins of a stone house marked "Alloway Kirk" and the canister base a print of a cottage marked "Burn's Cottage". The box reads "Clark's/ O.N.T./ Spool Cotton/ George A. Clark/ Sole Agent/ Made of Wood/ Grown/ On The Banks/ Of The Doon." Six holes fitted with white celluloid grommets are evenly arranged around the base for neatly dispensing the six different colored threads that would be held inside.
